A pesticide is any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest. The definition includes insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodenticides, and antimicrobials.
In Florida the production, distribution, sale, use, storage, and disposal of pesticides is regulated by one Federal and three Florida laws. These laws are:
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services regulates pesticide use in the State of Florida.
The KSC requirements for pesticide management are found in Chapter 18 of KNPR 8500.1 (KSC Environmental Requirements). KSC organizations and contractors shall ensure that all pesticide management and application activities meet all Federal, State, and KSC requirements.
