NASA Environmental Tracking System (NETS)

The NASA Environmental Tracking System (NETS) is an automated application and database supporting:

  • Mandatory NASA agency environmental reporting
  • Agency-wide performance metrics, and
  • Environmental functional management

Center users enter summary level data into the NETS database. NASA HQ Environmental Management Division utilizes NETS to review center data and prepare consolidated agency reports. Currently, NETS provides reports for the following environmental and energy areas:

  • Pollution Prevention
  • Hazardous Waste
  • Recycling, Affirmative Procurement & Solid Waste
  • Ozone Depleting Substances
  • Energy
  • Energy & Water Management Functional Review
  • Environmental Functional Management
  • Environmental Functional Review

Designated NETS users at each NASA center who need to input annual data into NETS are required to have a USER ID and Password to access the NETS system. KSC employees who need to access NETS should contact the KSC Environmental Branch (TA-B1C) at 867.8455 (Hien Nguyen or 867.8414 (Harry Plaza).

NETS Guides for the above listed environmental and energy areas are also available to designated NETS users. The KSC Environmental Management Branch recommends that all KSC designated NETS users be familiar with the guides on their reporting areas prior to inputting the required data into the NETS system.
