Environmental & Energy Award

Per Executive Order 13423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management,Environmental & Energy Award the Environmental Branch administers an awards program to recognize individuals and teams for exceptional contributions supporting KSC’s environmental and energy goals and who demonstrate environmental stewardship.

Awardees are recognized at the KSC Fall Awards Ceremony and receive certificates and numbered patches that have been flown aboard Shuttle missions.

Federal Energy & Water Management Award

The Federal Energy and Water Management Award is sponsored each year by the Department of Energy (DOE) in conjunction with the Federal Interagency Energy Policy Committee ("656" Committee). The award recognizes significant contributions to the efficient use of energy and water management.

Each March, NASA Headquarters/Code JE publishes a call to all the centers for award nominations for the previous fiscal year. KSC's Awards Office collects inputs from the Energy Working Group and Environmental Working Group and forwards all nominations to Code JE. See award categories by group size and topics on the FEWM website for further description.

Louis R. Harris Jr. Award

This award recognizes individuals for excellence improvements in energy efficiency in the Federal sector through utility energy service contracting. The person receiving this award should exemplify Lou Harris' goals and vision for building a strong partnership between the Federal government and the utility industry.
